Every now and then someone pops up at http://ffmpeg.arrozcru.org/forum looking for help building FFmpeg for WinCE. Until very recently that was sort of black magic. But then Martin Storsjö and İsmail Dönmez came along with a series of patches which were mostly integrated into FFmpeg SVN and now it seems WinCE builds of FFmpeg are possible without too much pain.

Unfortunately these guys are not everyday FFmpeg devs, so a bug might pop up and it will take us a long time to notice. There is no continuous build and testing FFmpeg for WinCE as there happens to be for a whole bunch of other platforms and operating systems in FATE.

I could set up such a system if only I had a device that supports WinCE. I’m not a big fan of electronic gadgets, so I’m not going off to a store to buy one. If anyone can donate a device that works with a somewhat recent WinCE (6.5 or so I’ve heard) and has Internet access I will see what can be done to integrate it into FATE and provide some builds (most likely not daily but still…).
